Harper and Emerson on Campbell and Thorpe: “BC out to lunch…the budget’s fine”

campbell.jpg According to the Harper and Emerson post-budget spin, Gordon Campbell and Revenue Minister Thorpe are ignorant, wearing blinders, and have completely lost their minds if they can’t see how good this budget is for BC. In an effort to help Campbell see how wrong he is on this issue, Mr. Harper wrote Mr. Campbell a nice letter today. I wonder if Harper is planning to suggest remedial math classes for BC’s political leaders? CanWest reports,

“Trade Minister David Emerson angrily dismissed charges by the B.C. government and federal opposition MPs Monday that the federal budget “punished” B.C. to benefit Quebec Premier Jean Charest’s bid for re-election”

Yesterday, Flaherty said the provinces would be thrilled with the budget and it marked the end of provincial/fed bickering. Scott makes a great point on his blog today and I have to agree, it sure doesn’t sound like the end of fed/provincial squabbling to me, it sounds like a whole new beginning.
